iPhone Email Setup Instructions Setup your Email- Make sure your iPhone is connected to the internet via 3G or WIFI.
- From your home screen, go into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account > Other > Add Mail Account.
- Type your full name, email address, and password. Then tap next.
- Tap on POP.
- Scroll down, under “Incoming Mail Server” the settings should be as follows:
Host Name: mail.i.net.au User Name: If your email address ends in @i.net.au, enter the first part of your email address. EG. If your email address is john@i.net.au enter john. Otherwise, enter your full email address. Password: *Your password* - Scroll down, under “Outgoing Mail Server” the settings should be as follows:
Host Name: mail.i.net.au User Name: If your email address ends in @i.net.au, enter the first part of your email address. EG. If your email address is john@i.net.au enter john. Otherwise, enter your full email address. Password: *Your password* - Tap save at the top right. The phone will display “Verifying”, then fail with then message “Cannot Connect Using SSL – Do you want to try setting up the account without SSL”. Tap yes. Again the phone will display “Verifying” (this may take up to 5 minutes) and then say “Cannot Connect Using SSL – Do you want to try setting up the account without SSL”. Click yes again. A few seconds later you should get ticks down the page.
- Back on the “Mail, Contacts, Calendars” screen, select the mail account you just added, tap account, scroll down to “Outgoing Mail Server” and tap SMTP, tap “mail.i.net.au”, tap “Server Port” and change it to 587 then tap done.
- Tap the home button to go back to the home screen and click the mail icon. Your mail may take up to a few minutes to come through the first time.
