Windows XP Setup Instructions

Configuring your Dial-Up connection & Internet Mail
  1. Click Start > Run. Enter inetwiz then click OK

  2. Select Connect using my phone line, then click Next

  3. If your dialing region has already been set you can jump to Step 5.
    Otherwise, choose the country/region you are currently in.
    Enter your area code, then select Tone Dialing.
    Click OK to continue.

  4. The wizard will then display the Phone and Modem Options window, showing My Location.
    Click OK to continue.

  5. If your modem is already installed, you can jump to Step 9.
    Otherwise, the wizard will try to detect and install your modem for you.
    If you do not want Windows to detect your modem, select Don't detect my modem, then click Next.

  6. As an example, I have chosen a modem to install. Please refer to your modem documentation for instructions on how to install your modem.

  7. As an example, I have chosen COM2 as the port my modem is connected to. Please refer to your modem documentation if you are unsure what port your modem should use.

  8. If you see this screen, you have successfully installed your modem. Click Finish to continue.

  9. If you have more than one modem, select the modem you would like to connect to the Internet with, then click Next

  10. Uncheck Use area code and dialing rules. Enter in the I.NET.AU dial-up number, 0198 333 669.
    Click Next to continue.

  11. Enter in your User name and Password, then click Next

  12. Enter in a name for the connection, then click Next. (E.g. I.NET.AU)

  13. Select Yes, then click Next

  14. Enter in your name, then click Next

  15. Enter in your e-mail address, then click Next.
    Note: Your email address is your username followed by @i.net.au (E.g. waldo@i.net.au)
    If you have your own domain name, your email address may be different.

  16. Enter in mail.i.net.au as the Incoming mail server, and mail.i.net.au as the Outgoing mail server.
    Click Next to continue.

  17. Enter in your Username and Password, then click Next

  18. Congratulations! You have completed configuration of your Dial-Up connection and Internet Mail.
    Click Finish to close the wizard.
